Abstract: |
The watching brief was carried out during groundworks for a new police training street, involving the reduction of ground surface and foundation trenches for a commercial and residential unit. Although the area was of considerable archaeological and historical potential, it was apparent from the onset that this particular piece of land had been considerably landscaped; perhaps more than once and, as such, was disturbed. Nineteenth century pottery sherds were located in a thin layer of silty clay above natural, no archaeological deposits were located during the works. [Au(adp)] |
