Abstract: |
Desk based appraisal and sample excavation were conducted on the moated site at Micklehead Green. The moat feature was located along with a number of small features possibly associated with garden activity within the moated area. No evidence was found to date the moat or any of the associated features to before the 18th/19th centuries. However, it remains a possibility that the moat was cut in the medieval period and kept free of silt and associated dating evidence until the eighteenth/nineteenth centuries. [Au(abr)] |
