Abstract: |
The earliest deposits encountered were natural gravels and brickearth. Overlying these deposits was a layer of possibly colluvial clayey sandy silt. Sealing these deposits was a later of probable ploughsoil which contained post-medieval ceramic building material. Cutting these deposits and features in the south and east of the site was a large feature filled with silty water lain material which may have represented the presence of a pond. All the deposits were sealed by 20th century brick rubble, made ground and concrete. [Au(abr)] |
