Abstract: |
During observations to Horse Guards Parade an archaeological watching brief identified two walls of a building, probably park lodgings shown in the Agas Map of c. 1562. The area was subsequently built up with a series of levelling layers during the 17th century and a later brick culvert was discovered. Material relating to the original parade-ground appeared to have been removed during 19th century alterations. [Au] |
