Abstract: |
A second watching brief concentrating on the demolition of Park House was undertaken in February 1995. The buildings were to be demolished for safety reasons prior to the area being used as a topsoil dump and this resulted in the structures being demolished to ground level, with the rubble remaining in situ. A brief inspection of certain areas of the building was possible and it was recommended that a brief investigation of any deposits below the floors be undertaken too. There was a complete lack of dating material from deposits associated with walls and therefore a more precise date to the early core of the building was not possible. Typologically it could be placed in the post-medieval period. [Au(adp)] |
