Abstract: |
A desk-top assessment of a proposed development site was undertaken. Peat deposits, palaeolithic animal bones, flint tools and Roman artefacts had been recorded in the area. An 11th century canal may have passed nearby. A borehole at the site itself had revealed the presence of undated timber. It was noted that the exact nature of the proposed development was not known, and that the potential damage to any archaeological deposits could not yet be assessed. [AIP] |
