Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during drainage works at St. Peter's Church, which dated from the 3th century and was a Grade II Listed Building. The trenches did not exceed 0.3m in depth and as a result, only topsoil and subsoil deposits were encountered. A localised quantity of building material in the subsoil may have related to documented demolition or rebuilding of the church. No artefactual material was found during the investigation. [Au] |
