Abstract: |
Monitoring of trenches dug through the centre of Tuxford for a replacement main located features thought to be associated with the post-medieval road network. Metalling deposits and culverts were identified but no building foundations were recognised. Mudstone blocks below the market plaace could have supported a structure such as a market cross. In most parts of the town the trench was not deep enough to penetrate post-medieval deposits. [Au] |
