The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was carried out as a result of a variation to a quarry working scheme agreed between Hampshire County Council and the operators. The area of extraction lay within an area known to produce both large numbers of Lower Palaeolithic hand-axes and sites of post glacial age. The watching brief recorded sections through the glacial deposits and recovered two hand-axes thus confirming the potential of the area. No remains of post glacial activity were recorded. [Au]
