Abstract: |
Trial trenching was carried out on the site. Much of the site contained no archaeology. A small area of slag material was identified next to the foundations of a building. This suggested that iron smelting took place on the site. The presence of occupation debris mixed in with the slag suggested that the building was also a habitation. Both the slag and the building were medieval in date. [Au(abr)] |
