Abstract: |
A trial archaeological excavation was undertaken in advance of the proposed resurfacing of the courtyard which was badly worn and failing in several places. A single small trench revealed no evidence for earlier courtyard surface, or for any other earlier archaeological features. 49 stones from the pavement were lifted and numbered; sample profiles were recorded.
