Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during the construction of eight dwellings on Kingsdown Parade. A previous desktop assessment had identified the presence of the 17th century Civil War defences between Colston's Redoubt and Prior's Hill Fort. The defensive line was assumed to consist of a ditch and bank, probably topped by a palisade. Nothing of archaeological significance was revealed, the only remains consisted of assorted post-medieval finds. [AIP] |
