Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a house and garage. The development was situated in the core of the medieval village of which the parish church and the base of a 14th century cross were the only extant remains of the period. Cropmarks to the southwest of the village had identified moated enclosures, possibly also medieval. The investigations revealed two 18th to 19th century features, one a pit and the second possibly an infilled well. Finds included locally produced Bourne and Nottingham pottery, both of the post-medieval periods. [Au(abr)] |
