Abstract: |
Five trial shafts, or small trenches, were excavated along the route of a relief sewer. One shaft was excavated by staff from the Passmore Edwards Museum. Evidence for Neolithic activity had been excavated nearby. A flint flake, a Mammoth's remains and some Roman activity had also been recorded in the vicinity. A fire-cracked flint and a sherd of prehistoric pottery were recovered from one shaft, whilst tile fragments and medieval road surfaces were revealed in another.[AIP] |
