Abstract: |
Magnetic susceptibility sampling, gradiometer scanning and detailed fluxgate gradiometer survey were carried out as part of a wider evaluation undertaken by Wardell Armstrong in advance of a proposed quarry extension. Few anomalies of definite archaeological potential were recorded by the survey. Areas of possible interest were considered likely to be of natural, geological or modern origin. Old quarry workings were considered responsible for one anomaly. Indications of former ridge and furrow were recognised, and a few possible ditch-lengths were highlighted, but the geophysical evidence was tentative. [Au(adp)] |
