Abstract: |
<summary>An evaluation was undertaken on a site proposed for gravel extraction containing crop marks including ring-ditches, pit alignments, enclosures and trackways of probable prehistoric date. It was not possible to establish a secure date for any of the features, although a sherd of Iron Age pottery was recovered from one of the enclosure groups. One of the enclosures was also shown to run beneath the upper fill of a relict river channel, whilst the south end of a pit alignment ran over the top of a similar infilled channel. {italon}AIP{italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} 16709 - 16711 |
