Abstract: |
The watching brief revealed evidence for river channel activity, but not for human intrusion in the form of piers, jetties, fish traps and boats. Service trenching revealed brick features that may have been associated with the earlier industrial buildings on the site. There was no opportunity, however, to investigate and record earlier medieval features, including possibly, Forein Bridge, as work was not carried out under the supervision of an archaeologist.
