Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was carried out on the proposed development site. Three areas of archaeological interest were identified, including 17th to 19th century field boundaries, the line of the 19th century tramway and the former Berristow colliery. Structures from the colliery were present in the south western area of the colliery and although now not visible may still survive. The development would impact on archaeology in its direct area and a mitigation strategy was recommended. [Au(abr)] |
