Abstract: |
The analysis of borehole cores confirmed that peat layers lay at considerable depths within the Walpole site. These deeper peats and peaty clays should have contained palaeoenvironmental evidence relating to the early or middle Mesolithic period, with all of the implications for human activity that this would imply.
