Abstract: |
The assessment concluded that there was a high potential for archaeological remains in the area of development in the form of prehistoric, particularly Neolithic, activity, and for Roman occupation. There was only a low potential for Saxon activity and a moderate potential for evidence of medieval and post-medieval agricultural activity. The standing buildings were provisionally assessed as having had, in general, a moderate impact upon potential archaeological remains, as were the former 19th century buildings on the site to the north of the storage buildings.
