Abstract: |
The route of the proposed pipleline passed through archaeologically rich countryside that had been intensively cultivated since late prehistoric times. The region had a high concentration of archaeological features which reflected the intensity of that use. 58 sites lay within the vicinity of the proposed route, however, only 15 of these would have a direct impact. These features included a Roman road, landscape features such as field boundaries and ridge and furrow systems.[Au(abr)] |
