Abstract:
A geophysical (magnetometer) survey was carried out at the proposed site of a new quarry. No anomalies indicative of archaeological activity have been identified in the sampled areas although a single linear anomaly may correspond with a previously identified crop mark. However, it was considered possible that the combination of prevailing soils and drift geology could mean that any surviving archaeological features were extremely difficult or impossible to detect.
