Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation comprising four trial trenches was carried out at the site of the proposed new football academy for Sheffield United Football Club. Several modern services and the base of a modern building were identified. No archaeological features were identified. Background research suggested that the hillfort which was levelled in the 1920s was probably located beneath the tennis courts immediately adjacent to the area under investigation. [Au(abr)] |
