Abstract: |
The assessment identified that the study area was bounded on three sides by a series of medieval and later listed buildings, in particular the 17th-19th century buildings along Fore Street to the south, forming the principal historical core of Okehampton. Activity in the broader area of the town also dated back certainly to the early medieval period, and probably to Anglo-Saxon times. Roman finds and sites had also been recorded in the area. [AIP] |
