Abstract: |
Nine recorded archaeological and historic sites were recorded within the study area. The majority of the sites identified were settlements, trackways and enclosures of probable Romano-British date, or the earthwork remains of two medieval moated sites with associated fishponds, enclosures and ridge and furrow field systems, and a medieval settlement. Part of the study area was identified as being part of Bugthorpe conservation area. The village itself was identified as containing five listed buildings including the Church of St Andrew (Grade I) and a Low Hall (Grade II). [Au(adp)] |
