Abstract: |
Three test pits were excavated within the precincts of the cathedral. Despite the small scale of the excavations, it was clear that important achaeological remins were present just below the surface. Imported garden soils that corresponded with the creation of the garden in the 19th century were recorded, as well as portions of masonry proving the existence of an earlier building on the site of the existing garage. Demolition and levelling activity was also evident. [Au(abr)] |
