Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on the groundworks associated with the repair and extension of the existing river wall. There had been five previous surveys in the vicinity of this stretch of foreshore, which indicated the potential presence of archaeological structures and deposits within the foreshore make-up. The watching brief enabled the archaeologists to record timber structures, such as revetments and jetties, dating from between the late medieval period up to the 20th century. [Au(abr)] |
