Abstract: |
All the features and deposits encountered appeared to relate to the construction, use, alteration and disuse of Southampton Terminus Station. These features, a series of brick and concrete walls, drains, levelling deposits and surfaces, were constructed directly onto the natural ground; the absence of any topsoil or subsoil suggested that the site had been levelled prior to construction. No archaeological features that pre-dated the station were found, and no artefacts were recovered.[Au(abr)] |
