Abstract: |
<summary>Desk-based assessment showed the proposed development site to be bounded to the south by White-Cliff Furnace, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, to the west by a quarry, and to the east by a hollow way, and to be crossed by the embanked line of the Monmouth Tramway, later part of the Great Western Railway. Map evidence revealed that remnant field boundaries from medieval land-use may exist within the development area and that post-medieval remains, including an inclined way serving Whitecliff furnaces, two lime-kilns and buildings, were located here. The remains of one such building were observed during a site visit. {italon}AIP{italoff} |
