Abstract: |
An evaluation, consisting of the excavation of three trial trenches(6% of the total development area), was undertaken across the site prior to proposed redevelopment of the site. It was clear was that the late medieval or post-medieval horizontal truncation of the site had removed any evidence of earlier archaeological deposits, structures or features. Evidence of horticultural activity, probably post-medieval, was recorded in two of the trenches, as well as a number of brick wall or wall foundation trenches. Some small fragments of pottery of early post-medieval date were. In conclusion the evaluation showed no evidence of pre post-medieval deposits. [Au(abr)] |
