Abstract:
Assessment identified three previously recorded archaeological sites located on land adjacent to the proposed development area. These comprised the sites of two crosses and the site of an Anglo-Saxon cemetery known from casual finds. The proposed development area was shown to have been occupied by two cottages in the late 18th century, although it was unclear whether either of these buildings had cellars which may have damaged earlier deposits.
