Abstract: |
Being an area of archaeological potential a field evaluation was required prior to development, commencing with a geophysical survey. Nothing of archaeological significance had been identified from either historical sources or archaeological information, despite its location in an area of former arable land to the south of the village's historic core. Traces of subdued ridge and furrow could be seen but were in a poor condition and not correlated to other surviving examples in the area. The geophysical survey identified buried ditches and pits of recent origin but nothing of archaeological significance. It was therefore considered that the proposed development would not have an adverse impact on the archaeology. [Au(abr)] |
