Abstract: |
The archaeological earthwork survey recorded a number of features relating to medieval agricultural activity and the post-medieval landscaped park. Ridge and furrow earthworks were recorded over much of the study area and the remains of a tree lined hollow way and ornamental pond were identified. Monitoring of topsoil stripping revealed further traces of medieval ridge and furrow field systems and the remains of an undated, compacted gravel pathway that may have formed part of the designed landscape of Londesborough Park.
