Abstract: |
An archaeological assessment was undertaken on land to the north of Holy Trinity Church. Three layers of burials were recorded and these were situated between a depth of 1.1 and 2 metres below ground surface. Two archaeological contexts identified as occupation layers were recorded towards the base of the trench. The earliest burials cut the uppermost deposit. Both contexts contained pottery which was found to date to the late Iron Age and Roman periods. [AIP] |
