Abstract:
The assessment identified three sites of potential archaeological significance within the study area. The site of an old coal mine was marked on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey and its location fell within the western area of the development site. Cropmarks of relict ridge and furrow were also identified in this area. In the eastern end of the development area, a broad linear cropmark, c. 100 metres long was identified and may have been of archaeological significance. [Au(abr)]
