Abstract: |
Trenches amounting to 4.4% of the defined area were excavated, which revealed some localised areas of modern disturbance, and evidence that landscaping had taken place during construction of the fuel tanks. Two curving stone surfaces of an 18th or 19th-century date were recorded. These features were not depicted on historic maps. No evidence for archaeological activity pre-dating the post-medieval period, in the form of features or finds, was identified in any trench. [Au(abr)] |
