Abstract: |
As part of an extensive renovation of the first floor of 32-39 Sandhill, a rapid building survey was commissioned. The survey covered five separate properties which displayed an interesting variety of structural types, dating from the late medieval period to the seventeenth century. A larger, more detailed survey was recommended in order to date parts of the buildings more precisely. The work reinforced previous suggestions that the group of houses represented the most important collection of post-medieval houses in Newcastle. [Au(abr)] |
