Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of residential development. The site was located within the historic core of this small Fen edge village. Archaeological sites and finds in the vicinity covered many periods and included a particularly wealthy Late Iron Age burial. The assessment indicated the possibility of archaeological remains on the site and discussed the likely nature of surviving deposits. The available documentary evidence suggested that the development area had consisted of buildings or yards for at least 200 years and this may have affected the survival of archaeological remains.
