Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was conducted in advance of a proposed development. Geophysical survey and trial trenching work was carried out. The geophysical survey revealed evidence of medieval ridge-and-furrow and later linear features. Eleven trial trenches were excavated. Evidence of medieval ploughing was recorded in five of the areas. Modern field drains were found in one trench, and made ground was encountered near the middle of the site. No evidence of pre-medieval activity was found. All of the finds were recovered from the topsoil, and all were of modern date. [Au(abr)] |
