Abstract:
Fieldwalking and recorded observation during construction of a water main recovered pottery and lithics, some of Neolithic date. A charcoal spread at Parsonage Cross (SX 8114 6354) was observed and a decision to carry out a limited hand excavation was taken. Post holes, ditches and pits were exposed, it appeared that a structure had been built on the site of earlier activity. [AIP]
