Abstract: |
The archaeological data was compiled to assess the potential for Palaeolithic artefacts in the sand and gravel and the proposed dredging area, and wrecks and related material. It was concluded that there was potential for Palaeolithic and Mesolithic remains. The shipwreck potential comprised six wrecks and obstructions, a further seven wrecks within the Inner Marine study zone and eighty-nine wrecks and obstructions in the Outer Marine Study Area. Undocumented wrecks of various dates including the Iron Age may have been possible. [Au(abr)] |
