Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of a series of holes for three new stiles and a gate, associated with the Hadrian's Wall Path National Trail Alignment Project. All of the proposed structures lay within the Scheduled area of Hadrian's Wall and associated features. No significant archaeological features were recorded during the watching brief. Two of the stiles replaced existing ones, within the same area of ground disturbance, and the new gate was also positioned within a previously disturbed area. [Au(adp)] |
