Abstract: |
Monitoring of groundworks was carried out in advance of the construction of a new store, at a site which lay c. 100m to the east of and outside the former moat encircling Claxton Manor and castle. No significant archaeological features or artefacts, other than fragments of post-medieval brick and tile and modern pottery, were observed. Several extensive animal burrows were noted. [Au(adp)] |
