Abstract:		 The watching brief was carried out during groundworks for a new residential development. Three parallel ditches were observed. These probably flanked the north side of the Winchester to Old Sarum Roman Road. A late 1st or 2nd century sherd of Samian pottery was found, but no trace of the road itself. [Au(abr)]
