Abstract: |
The evaluation was undertaken on land immediately to the north of the Iron Age hillfort of Battlesbury Camp, near Warminster. The results confirmed the presence of an extensive area of Early Iron Age (6th/7th century AD) settlement activity along the length of the north/south aligned chalk spur between the hillfort and the Harman Lines Works. A total of 234 archaeological features were recorded, including 172 postoles, 56 pits and 6 ditches. [AIP] |
