Abstract: |
A desk based study of the proposed route of a bypass identified that the road would pass through an area of pasture, parts of which featured medieval ridge and furrow. No other archaeological remains had been recorded within a 200m corridor along the route, although the line of a Roman road passed nearby. Little archaeological work had been carried out in the area, and it was recommended that fieldwalking and geophysical survey should be undertaken. [AIP] |
