Abstract: |
Deposits recorded during the investigation of the site included natural clay gravels, a medieval cobbled surface, post-medieval dumped deposits and a yard. These were sealed by a layer of topsoil developed after enclosure of the area as a walled garden during the early 19th century. Residual Romano-British pottery was recovered, though finds retrieved during the investigations consisted chiefly of pottery and animal bone dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries. [Au] |
