Abstract: |
Prior to c.1800, the study site formed part of the Putney Lower Common. The site was first developed between 1800 and 1845 with two large villas. From 1910 onward, the site was developed as the former Putney Hospital. On the basis of the available evidence, it was suggested that the archaeological impact of the proposed development be mitigated by the implementation of an archaeological monitoring exercise.
