Abstract: |
An archaeological desk-based assessment was undertaken in advance of the proposed construction of a T-shaped residential block. The assessment established that the development site had the potential to contain prehistoric, medieval and post-medieval remains. A geo-environmental investigation had confirmed that there was up to 1.8m of made ground across the site through which the foundations would be excavated to gravel deposits. This made-ground may have been archaeological (medieval and post-medieval) in nature. Any prehistoric remains present would have been cut into the underlying gravel. [Au(adp)] |
