Abstract: |
A desk based assessment was undertaken in advance of the construction of a footbridge on the Newcastle Quayside. It was discovered that both terminals were on the low tide river foreshore until 1860 and was then subjected to dredging. The fact that placement of the bridge footings would mean the raising of the ground surface, the archaeological impact was deemed to be limited. [Au] |
